Wi-Fi Standard


WI-FI, also known as WI-FI 1 to 6 or 802.11, comes in different generations and standards. The 802.11 standard specifies the protocol used for communication between devices with each new generation introducing new protocols to improve performance. The different standards are categorized into a, b, g, n, ac or ax. Each category has its own maximum data rate and uses different frequency bands, either the 2.4GHz band or the 5GHz band.
