The CAN bus communication interface offers two protocol options: CANopen and Custom CAN ID. CANopen follows CiA standards, with fixed 11-bit CAN IDs and EDS file support. In contrast, Custom CAN ID enables flexible command structures, configurable 11/29-bit CAN IDs, and DBC file integration. Custom CAN ID can be easily integrated into an existing CAN bus system, increasing design flexibility. To communicate with externals hardware some displays series support up to 8 GPIOs.
Featuring an STM32 MCU, UI development is simplified with Winstar GUI Builder, which allows for the design of interfaces without coding. In addition to Winstar's GUI builder, ST development tools like TouchGFX and STM32CubeIDE can also be used, providing additional design flexibility.
The display features built-in firmware and is compatible with a range of host platforms, including computers with USB2CAN dongles and Raspberry Pi interfaces (PiCAN2).
