  • Compact EMC filters with extremely low leakage current


  • The B84142A*166 series from TDK is a series of 2-line EMC filters designed for rated currents of 10A, 16A, and 30A at a rated voltage of 250VAC (50/60Hz). These filters are very compact in size: the 10A and 16A types measure only 84.5x52x38mm, and the 30A version only 130x84x69mm. This permits mounting even when space is very limited.

    Another feature of the B84142A*166 is its extremely low leakage current of less than 0.5mA and 1.8mA. This prevents unintentional tripping of ground fault circuit interrupters (also known as residual current devices). In addition to their compact size, these filters offer a very high insertion loss of up to more than 100dB.

    The new filters meet the requirements for climate category 25/100/21, IEC 60068-1 and protection class IP00. The filters can be operated without derating at ambient temperatures of up to 50°C. Approvals to EN, UL and CSA are pending. Applications for the new EMC filters include converters and power electronics systems.

  • Design cases with insertable heatsinks


  • The increasing integration density of printed circuit board assemblies and the increasing amounts waste heat generated by the electronic components pose ever greater challenges for the cooling concept of the cases that are used. For these applications Fischer Elektronik offers a series of cases, the GE K... which has optimal heat dissipation properties.

    The new, one side open, U-shaped profile of the cases contain integrated guides to fit electronic components or circuit boards as well as an insertable heatsink which assures the function of heat dissipation to the surroundings. It is dimensionally adjustable to the cooling concept of any assembly. Fixing the heatsink is through front and rear covers that are bolted to the profile of the case.

    As standard, the GE K series is available in three different sizes, seven lengths (50, 80, 100, 120, 160, 200 and 220 mm) and in two surface finishes (natural and black anodised). The basic case, the heatsink as well as the covering plate can be mechanically machined, surface-treated and printed according to the customer's requirements. The GE K... cases are supplied as a disassembled assembly set including the covering plate and assembly accessories.

  • Compact keyswitch with great level of tactility


  • The RAFIX 22 FS+ keyswitch from RAFI is an extraordinarily compact solution with an overall height of only 45.1 mm from the front plate. Despite its small dimensions, the compact keyswitch is characterized by a great level of tactility.

    The
    RAFIX 22 FS+ keyswitch switch is offered with momentary and latching functions as well as four different rotational angles. With IP65 protection class the unit is water-jet proof. Assembly takes place by attaching a threaded ring, the diameter of the mounting hole is 22.3mm for a contact spacing of 35x35mm.

    There are two connection type options, solder terminal contact blocks for PCB mounting or quick-connect (QC) contact blocks for directly wired connection. With the PCB solution, the switch reaches the low mounting depth typical of only 9.2 mm. This offers the basis for modern housing designs with a very flat construction. The QC contact blocks, with a mounting depth of 27mm, make quick and economical assembly possible.

    Pushbutton, keyswitch or selector switch applications from the same series can be combined on the same PCB with RAFI short-travel keyswitches in various dimensions and with various tactile switching forces and actuating areas.

    The pre-fabrication of the cable assemblies with contact blocks also makes everything especially easy due to the tool-free assembly principle. Front rings, for labeling the function, are available in various colors as well as metalized designs.
