Power Management Modules (PMMs) from RRC Power Solutions handle the switch between AC/DC adapter power and battery backup in case of input power failure. These compact, certified modules handle charging, SMBus communication and battery management. No firmware needed, and no certification work.
A PMM makes the difference when:
To enable full smart battery communication between the PMM and your host system, a proper SMBus connection is required. This ensures reliable and smooth monitoring and management of battery status, charge levels, and system power behavior without the need for custom firmware.
Texim Europe supplies a dedicated SMBus cable to simplify this connection. Using this interface cable, you can easily integrate the communication lines (SCL, SDA) and power lines (GND, VCC) between the PMM module and your device. SCL (Serial Clock Line) synchronizes the data communication, whereas SDA (Serial Data Line) is used to send and receive data.

The PMM20 is designed to support the widely-used RRC20xx battery packs, offering reliable backup power and straightforward system integration. With pre-programmed charging management and automatic switching between DC input and battery output, the PMM20 simplifies smart battery compliance without the need for custom firmware.

The PMM35 is engineered specifically for the powerful RRC3570 battery pack, enabling compact, high-performance designs that demand 20A peak currents. With dedicated terminals and rugged construction, it’s ready for demanding industrial and medical environments.
